About MERIC - More about MERIC

MERIC provides the opportunity for private sponsors and other

health care providers to collaborate with physicians on

research projects and educational endeavors. MERIC

emphasizes the testing of new products and methods, and the

training of surgical personnel in specific techniques. It is also

home to a biomechanics research laboratory, which operates

under the direction of John Elias, Ph.D.

Premiere Health Plaza

MERIC occupies 5,200 ft of the Premier Health Plaza in central

Colorado Springs. The 100,000 ft building was completed in

fall of 2001 and contains an outpatient surgery center, medical

office space, medical imaging facilities, and physical therapy

facilities.

Five surgical suites, including two with a shared observation

room, are conveniently located adjacent to MERIC. Physician

specialties represented in the building include orthopedics

(with subspecialties in sports medicine, spine, joint

replacement, foot and ankle, and hand), ENT, plastic surgery,

women's care/breast care, pain management, podiatry, and

general surgery.

This innovative endeavor is unique to the Rocky Mountain

region and is dedicated to the enhancement of patient care

through research and education. A calendar of public education

events and screenings reflect MERIC's commitment to the

community's health and well being.

MERIC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt and publicly supported
